this is the list of my favorite terror movies that i used to watch as kid and still was able to be a good little jdub and son of the cobe.

looking back, the wt made me more curious to watch these movies.

we are madly in love with each other and she is in the process of being divorced.

let me make one thing clear i'm not the reason for the divorce.

she attempted to reconcile with him but to no avail.

I'm still unsure if marrying someone out of the Borg is an automatic disfellowshipping offense. I know the Borg's elders have different understanding of ''brazen conduct'' and what not pertaining to associating with NonJw's. I still believe it's how the local JW gestapo elders perceive the situation and discipline accordingly, whether it's just just a marking or the ultimate punishment in that of disfellowshipping.

It's funny you should mention that in your last paragraph. Did I mention before where how I got my handle?? While I was researching sites like Reachoutrust.org and the Cal Lehman ministries in Towerwatch.com, I always came across links to this site. Further I was sent a link to JWfacts and that's where I had the most epic, unprecedented, surreal surprise ever.

That was such an overwhelming moment when I read about ''Beth Sarim'' so to it that I was so shocked I picked my handle ''Beth Sarim''.LOL

As far as I'm concerned, the JW's have become ever more cultier than ever before just in the last 6 months to year-and-half now. The JW who wants to marry a Catholic will face the henchmen in that of their local elders. They have changed a lot of their ''disciplinary'' words to ''brazen conduct'' broadening the scope of offenses, they are a lot quicker now to disfellowship(excommunication). It's up to the local JW gestapo what punishment they will administer though.

Shunning is now enforced to a stronghold, so any relatives including your immediate family not living under your roof will ostracize you at will. Remember, once you sign your life away by baptism, it's a life long contract. Shunning a JW family member takes precedence in practising loyalty to the cult.

Why do JW's record and report time?

It's simply a control mechanism. The number on a slip of paper at the beginning of a new months gauges one's ''spirituality''. Any record number over the congregation or national average proves a ''brothers'' eligibility for ''priviledges''. Privilidges such as carrying a microphone around or operating the sound system at the back of the hall. Other priviledges like being used to read for the WT or the book study or prayer before the meeting.

Secondly, I want to state that another reason why they record time is another control mechanism. When the ''circuit overseer'' , or CO makes his rounds to the congregations every 6 months or so. He goes through each and every members' preaching records on the Tuesday afternoon before the week's visit. He goes through everyone's records and determines who is shall we say judged as ''weak'', by that I mean ''low hours''. From there it is determined when the elders get together for their meeting with the CO, they discuss who merits one of those dreaded ''shepparding calls'' or those rude drop in visits out of the blue.

'Seek the Kingdom First' Economics

has anyone else's family finances been victim to the 'seek the kingdom first' economic policy?.

for years, my husband and i have had our own business, my husband is not the most proactive guy, prefers to go in field service than to work, but he has always encouraged me to 'rely on jehovah and all these other things will be added to you', 'seek the kingdom first' etc etc.

there have been times, such as when i was heavily pregnant and we lost a big deal, that i have been begging jehovah on hands and knees to honour that promise, wondering why he wasn't helping us.

What hypocrisy!! So apparently it is o.k. if Mr. Elder with wife and kids to have full time job with benefits. But a single woman in the Borg to have a full time job with benefits, with no other income and with paying sky high rent is labelled as weak.

This was one of the things I struggled with. Mr. Elders is so poor I guess. He has a motor home, boat, living on an acreage and vacations twice a year or more to tropical places. I have always struggled with this mind set. Nauseating.
